email & webmail Errors- FAQ

I can't send out email through SMTP Port 25, is there a workaround?

Some Internet Service Providers (SBC, among others) or network administrators block the default port (25) reserved for standard SMTP communication. EMA email system users with SMTP can workaround this problem by changing the Outgoing SMTP Server to mail.sbcglobal.net. top

Why am I receiving returned email with error messages?

When there is an issue with an email account, the sender may receive a "Recipient address rejected" status message also known as a "bounce." The following are some common "Recipient address rejected" status messages and their typical meaning:

The recipient has exceeded their storage quota.
Recipient address rejected: Sorry, the mailbox for no-space@yourmane.com is full, please try resending mail later
The recipient does not exist.
Recipient address rejected: This user does not have an account here
The recipient has been suspended for violating one or more service agreement terms.
Recipient address rejected: Not accepting mail for this account: Account terminated due to violation of user agreement
The sender that is trying to reach the recipient is sending their message from a network that is known to be the origin of excess spam.
Client host rejected: Resource temporarily unavailable - spam complaint

Why did I receive an "approaching mailbox limit" message?

If enabled, users automatically receive a Quota Warning Letter once every 7 days when their mailbox utilizes 90% or more of its total storage capacity. The default Quota Warning Letter is:

From: admin@e-marketingassociates.com
Subject: Warning (Approaching mailbox limit)…

This email is sent as a courtesy to let you know your mailbox size is approaching its limit. To reduce the size, delete messages you no longer need, empty the trash and spam folders, or download the messages to your email client (Outlook, Express etc.).
